What films has Quentin Tarantino Directed/ Produced?
Guentin Tarantino is best known for his successful films such as
  • Kill Bill (Volume 1 & 2)
  • Sin City
  • Natural Born killers
  • True Romance
The films i am analysing
The films that I will be analising are Kill Bill (Volume 1) alongside True Romance.
I have decided to analyse these two films in particular because I think that they convey the most interesting story line for the audience.

True Romance:
True Romance is fascinating as you would expect the storyline to be extremely romantic e.g. the typical fairytale story that conveys a happy ending despite a disruption.
Although True Romance does have a happy ending alongside a disruption, it is completely the opposite type of disruption that you would expect to see due to the name of the film. On the other hand the word “True” has most likely been used to portray the twist throughout the film, that the Romance was not as true as it felt during the beginning of the couple getting together.
The plot of the movie True Romance is about a young fascinating man that marries a hooker called alabama and steals cocaine from her pimp to be successful with his attempt to sell this in fame and money fortuned popular people in hollywood. The film True Romance consists of three genre's which are Thriller, Mystery and crime.

The trailer of the movie True Romance shows a variety of tracking shots as there are many journeys throughout the movie. This type of shot is the best way to film a scene with movement from inside a car as it allows the audience to see what is going on in the scene whilst the camera follows behind recording the scene. There is a wide range of high key lighting used as most of the movie is filmed throughout the day. Howver during different times of the day such as in the night the lighting changes to low key lighting creating an effect on the audience as sexual scenes tend to proceed during this time of the day throughot the film. The film True Romance scored a total rating of 7.9 stars overall.
The release date of True Romance was on the 15th October 1993 and his second massive Movie Kill Bill Volume 1 was released a year later on 17th October 2003.

Kill Bill:
Kill Bill (Volume 1) scored a rating of 4 stars and a total of 8.2. Kill bill was highly successful and due to the success of the film Kill Bill volume 2 was later produced. The plot synopsis of Kill Bill is about a female called the bride who is a member of the deadly viper assassination squad lead by her lover Bill. As the bride became pregnant she decided to leave the group/ her life as a killer causing many problems to occur after this as her baby was not able to be born due to a variety of circumstances, she then decided to seek Revenge.
The trailer of the Movie Kill Bill explores all of the conventions of a thriller allowing the audience to see what may occur but not fully knowing. It shows full intensity of all the main characters, giving the audience a slight impression of what type of roll the characters are playing. This si appealing as people who are interested due to particular actors and actresses within the film are able to decide straight away whether they want to see the film or not. The cast that are starring in a film can play a big role in how well a film performs.

How is the films a thriller?
The two movies that i am analysing are classed as thrillers due to the fact that they follow the conventions of a thriller movie rather than a Horror Movie. The way this has been done is by building tension and suspicion throughout the film rather than at the beginning of the film.
